The following blog was written by a student that attended one of my Leadership Labs. The writing was in response to the question “How would you define leadership?”

What is leadership? According to the dictionary, it’s the power or ability to lead other people. Adolf Hitler was a leader, Abraham Lincoln was a leader, Amy Carmichael was a leader. All these people had the ability and gift to lead others towards a goal. But no all of these people were necessarily good leaders. Jesus Christ was and is the best leader ever to walk the earth. The way he loved is what made him a good leader. Love is patient. Love is kind. Love does not envy. Love does not boast. Jesus perfected what it meant to be a good leader. So in short, good leadership is everything Jesus was. Every leader has a choice of being a good leader or a bad leader. In my opinion, a leader worth following is one who strives to be like Jesus.
